Hi, I have a windows vista (Home premium) 64bit machine. Is it possible to install Hadoop on my m/c? I see that Eclipse Europa does not have a 64-bit package but wonder if you have a solution for that.

    Thanks,
    Nitish

    Nitish,

Of course you can use 32bit code on 64bit machines. But you need to install 32bit version of JDK and you memory usage will be limited to 2GB or so whatever JDK 32 limit is. However this is a limit per JVM so if you follow this tutorial your total memory usage could be as high as 8GB.
